Head over on Sunday evenings in the summertime for the popular backyard barbecue. They've got free burgers and hot dogs--for vegetarians, too--as well at pitchers of beer (some for $7).

It would figure that Williamsburg's premiere gay bar would have only a MySpace page as its website—ah, the ironic retro internet—and this award-winning gay and lesbian oriented bar is one of the most popular in the borough, even moreso during the warm weather months due to its ample outdoor space. Metropolitan also features a lengthy indoor bar and a billiards table for the cold winter nights.

The giant patio out back is the main reason to come to this favorite Brooklyn semidive bar. Spacious it may be during the daily 3 to 8pm happy hour (when drinks are two for one), but the place usually gets crazy busy after 10pm—especially on Wednesday nights for the long-running women’s party.

Pretty much Brooklyn's best full-time gay bar. Decidedly low-attitude, friendly crew on both sides of the bar will help you while away the hours and get liberated. Fireplaces in the winter are fantastic, multi-level backyard rules in the summer. Sunday brunch includes free Lucky Charms, and hot Lesbian Wednesdays are off the hook.
