I have no vested interest, nor am I friends with any of the employees or management, so this is simply me sharing a personal recommendation with my fellow Mayfairians:
MIKE & IRV'S AUTO REPAIR,
located on the triangle at Harbison+Levick (next to the Police Station).
For the past five years I've experienced something that I never had in the 35 years prior in dealing with auto repair/maintenance shops: total confidence in the expertise, integrity, and fair-pricing of the work being done on my car.
The owner/master-mechanic is Howard, who grew up in the Shop when it was operated by his dad and uncle ("Mike & Irv"). He's a stone-cold gearhead, so passionate that he'll eagerly spend 20-30 minutes explaining your car's inner workings. He treats all his steady customers as appreciated friends, and never tries to gouge or oversell.
It's so rare when I'm genuinely satisfied, let alone impressed, with any service provider....that sheer gratitude compels me to "pay it forward."
So 'BRAVO', Howard.............Somewhere "MIKE & IRV" are smiling and very proud.
