Sharing the mountaintop with the star is the Mill Mountain Zoo. Asian animals are center stage here, including a rare Siberian tiger, snow leopards, and red pandas. Ride the Zoo Choo train for $2.

This small zoo is home to more than 50 animal species, including snow leopards, monkeys, prairie dogs, hawks, red pandas, Japanese macaques, and a bald eagle. The animals are caged, so don't come up here if that bothers you. An open-air, narrow gauge train runs around the periphery, giving access to red wolves and deer. The Mill Mountain Zoo is a zoo located atop Mill Mountain in Roanoke, Virginia. Originally opening in 1952, the zoo was operated by the City of Roanoke for its first 24 years.
