I went to Dr. Miller in 2005 for a root canal and it was a pain free experience. But the most important thing: that tooth never gave me any trouble again. Now, when my general dentist wanted to refer me to an endodontist, I told him the only one I wanted to see was Dr. Miller. I went to see Dr. Miller in March 2010 for a tooth that had just been crowned and it seemed that the stress on the tooth was enough to warrant a root canal. I was very unhappy about it, but I made an evaluation appointment anyway. He took x-rays, exposed my tooth to cold and tapped on it and recommended a root canal. A few days later, on the actual appointment I was in the chair but I changed my mind at the very last moment, I wanted to wait another week or so to see if that pain and sensitivity was due to the cement of the permanent crown or if this was a damaged pulp. In any event, instead of getting angry or being cynical about my "hope for a spontaneous cure" and my last second cancellation, Dr. Miller got a picture of my x-ray and explained to me in detail what happens when a tooth is injured to the point it needs a root canal. He also outlined what I should expect in the future from this tooth. It was zero pressure from him and a lot of learning for me. My only regret is that he is not a general dentist. I enthusiastically recommend him for your root canal needs. Not only he is an extremely nice person, but he is a great endodontist, he knows his trade and he obviously puts the patient before the need to make money. Again, I wish he were a general dentist.
