I brought in 2 pairs pf ecco shoes that needed to be repaired. I asked several shoe repair stores to fix them but they all could not. I took them to model shoe renew and the man promised me he would gurantee his work and make them brand new. 3 days later i picked up my shoes and i was amazed at the work they had done .They were very honest and their work was very clean and neat.

the Bad and the Egotistical:
I think it is interesting that there is such a wide divergence of reviews on this shop. I suggest you avoid the aggravation and send your shoes back to the manufacturer for repairs.
My experience in a nutshell: boots are badly damaged, I am out $45 and was basically called a liar and yelled at in public.
But a few months ago when I initially decided to have my beloved Trippen boots repaired I was happy to find Model -- they do have such a good reputation.
The soles of my boots were thin and hole-y and the mid seam of the split sole was beginning to come apart. The woman at the register and I discussed for quite a while what to do with them and OKd the plan with the guys in the back. She decided on $45 to do the repair. I thought was high but anything to save my boots.
I should have been warned when she told the repair guys to be careful with the insoles and not break then.....alas I did not heed the warning.
I picked up the boots a few days later and mistakenly didn't try them on in the shop. They looked good enough and I was happy to have a future again with my boots. Putting then on a few days later I realized that infact they had broken the insole. But as it was out of my way I didn't return them. I wore them-- they weren't too uncomfortable so I didn't worry about it.
However after about 5 wearings I saw that the sole of the boot with the broken insole was peeling off the bottom of the shoe and ripping the original sole off along with it. It was clear that due to the break in the insole the sole of the shoe was bending in a place that stressed the stitches and glue and caused the sole to peel off.
Worried but not yet annoyed I returned today to the shop to see if this new problem could be repaired.
The man I spoke to (with an accent I couldn't place--said he was the owner) insisted that it would cost me another $20. He also insisted in one track of rationale that there was no relationship between the new problem and the broken insole, that it was a problem of the shoe design (though this was entirely new damage that developed after they 'repaired' the boots) and then insisted that the insole had not been broken by them. He said "why would I break it? How would I break it?!" "tell me how I would do such a thing?!". I was unable to tell him how he would break the insole. I do not know how to repair shoes. That is why I go to a shop. I suggested he fix the problem for free and I would let it go. But he would not -- claiming a things I did not fully understand.
Fine I said, both angry and confused, and left.
My boots are badly damaged and I am out $45 and have basically been called a liar and yelled at in public. I suggest you avoid the aggravation and send your (nicer) shoes back to the manufacturer for repairs.
