The best:
My daughter and I ride and board our horse at Morningstar farm. Judy and Shelly take very good care of all the horses. When I see other farms with their horses out in the fields in bitter cold, rain, snow, ice I know that my horse is in her clean stall with plenty of feed, hay, warmth and water. Judy and Shelly are very down to earth people and treat you like family. They put their heart into taking care of the horses and teaching children and adults how to care of a horse and how to ride. They have an excellent riding program, Morningstar Farm Sunday horsemanship riding program. The fee is very reasonable for amount of time and what they learn at the farm. This is the third riding school I have been to and it is the best. This is my first time owning a horse. Now, having been at Moring Star Farm for three years my daughter and I felt that what we learned so much from Judy and Shelly about horses. We enjoy our time at the farm and they are always there to help us. They gave my daughter and I the confidence we needed to succeed as riders and owners.

Highly recommended:
My family and I became a part of this farm about 5 years. Since the day we first arrived we were welcomed with open arms. At that time my daughter was 4 and started riding with Shelly. Shelly has an amazing way with children. She teaches them the basics of riding and gives them the confidence they need to succeed. Her patience and kindness with children especially mine was overwhelming. My daughter rode with Shelly for a couple of years until she was confident enough to move into Judy's ring. To this day my daughter loves to ride and still thrives in Judy's ring. Judy is an amazing teacher and extremely knowledgeable in riding and horsemanship. What stands out from this farm from others is the feeling of family. Judy and Shelly make everyone feel like we are all part of a family. They put 100% of themselves into every person and horse that comes into their farm. All the staff are hardworking and do a great job feeding, cleaning and maintaining the horses on a daily basis. There are many horses on this farm and they are all well mannered and taken care of so well. Since then I have purchased my own horse and board there as well. The love and care they give my horse is unconditional and that is so hard to find. I am so happy we found this place and most important I am so thankful that Judy and Shelly are a huge part of my family now.

Riding Lessons, Life Lessons and Love:
I have been bringing my daughter to Morning Star Farm for several years now. I started because my daughter expressed an interest in horses and learning how to ride. I didn't really know where to go, as we had recently moved into the area. My daughter was very shy and had a fragile personality. I knew I needed to find the right farm, not too "stuffy" and an instructor that didn't "push" when she wasn't ready. If this went wrong, it could shatter what was to be a wonderful experience. As soon as I spoke to Judy, I knew I had the right place. I was hooked on our first visit. I always heard the bonds that people have when you own or ride horses. There is a certain respect that people have for each other, and a feeling of family. This has been so true at this farm. On our first visit, Shelly didn't shake our hands - she gave us a hug. I felt like I was visiting an old family member. She took my daughter under her wing, and boy, you should see her now! The nice thing is, there are times that I want my daughter to be doing more, but they know it's not the right time. They will say, look, we could put her on this horse, have her do this, this and this, but it will not benefit her. This may not be the same for every child, but with mine, they are right. If I (we) make a wrong move, the experience (which has now become a dream for her) could be shattered in a second. I am so grateful to them for their honesty, their openness, and not being there just for the money. If that was the case, they would have me there 3+ times a week for hour lessons at an astronomical price. The speed of my child's learning to ride doesn't measure up to the safety on the farm (strictly enforced by the way) and the companionship she builds with instructor and horse when she rides. The things she is learning at the farm are taken past riding. She has opened up her personality at home and at school. Something I thought she would struggle with for a long time. When you read these reviews, just remember to think about your child, where they are in life and where they want to be. If riding is something they would like to try, Morning Star Farm is the place to go. I would urge you to call and speak to Judy as well as stop by and see the farm. The horses are well taken care of and well trained. The instructors couldn't be more friendly and knowledgeable. And your child will benefit greatly from the riding lessons, life lessons and love on this farm.

The Place to Be.:
Hi all. This is Shelly from Morning Star Farm I have been the Beginner Trainer here for 10 years. The horses are happy, healthy, and fat. They love nothing more than the site of a child walking toward the ring for there riding lesson. My favorite expression is “Happy Cows come from California. But happy kids and horses come from Morning Star Farm.” The programs here at the farm are safe and fun. We are all Certified Instructors. It truly is an experience your child will remember for a lifetime. If you love horses as we do. This is the place to be. Come see the farm and all we have to offer. It’s so much more than a place to take riding lessons.
