Defiantly not a Pup's Place.:
After hanging out there for a week and seeing how the place was actually ran, I would never bring my dogs to this place - and I had the chance of doing it for FREE! Let me start off by saying that the "cabins" (or oversized cages I call it) your dog stays in overnight are made out of drywall. These walls are in constant need of repair - which means while your dog is there is could very well be making a snack out of drywall. Worst yet, it seems like they never repair these walls unless it truly needs it. That means if you have a small dog, it could very well get stuck in the wall! Judging by the way they value their customers… or better yet, your money, you’d never know that your dog ate drywall, much less got stuck in it. They also never turn the AC on in this place, so if you own something with breathing issues, I would look elsewhere!

My Pup's Place can't even follow its own rules. They hire people to manage the dogs that are uneducated about them. While I was there they had a clearly stressed out, large dog (50-60lb) kept in with a bunch of 20 pound, hyper-active dogs. I wasn’t surprised a bit when this larger dog finally attacked one of the smaller ones, and the people currently working there couldn’t figure out why she did it! They assumed that the larger dog was just “really quiet” and couldn’t tell from her body language that she was in fact stressed. They also threw a clumsy, large breed puppy in with these same smaller dogs and didn’t realize it was being attacked and harassed by said smaller dogs for 10 minutes. I also saw quite a few dogs that were not neutered, which is asking for trouble, as some of these dogs were larger breeds.

The worst, however, was the day I came in and found a dog that was not vaccinated and just came in from a puppy mill. If you don’t know what a puppy mill is, I really suggest in looking it up. My Pup’s Place requires DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella vaccines before you can bring your dog in. This dog had the entire run of the area where the overnight dogs stay! The best part is when they (the workers) told me they were “keeping it separate from the others” yet they had a little four pound Yorkshire Terrier running around with it (and I’ve owned one that size, their immune systems are not great.) To top that, the gate that “separated” said puppy mill dog from the other dogs was actually just a chain link gate! Unbelievable!

Anybody would know (okay, just someone who’s educated, which is clearly not the workers at My Pup’s Place) that Distemper can be spread through the air. Parvo is the worse because it can STILL affect dogs that are fully vaccinated and it lives anywhere and on anything for over six months if left untreated. I’ve had two dogs catch this virus. One died in less than 48 hours; one was at the vet’s for more than three days. The only way to kill this virus is to bleach EVERYTHING this dog touches and none of this happened while that dog was there. This dog also ate and drank from other dog’s bowls, laid down on PERSONAL dog beds (as well as ones owned by My Pup’s Place, who does not bleach their laundry) and possibly touched noses with over 20 dogs due to a chain link gate - so now all of these dogs may have taken this virus (not to forget distemper!) home with them. That was the final straw for me.

So in my opinion, My Pup’s Place is not the place for Pups, period.
