On March 15, 1781, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse so weakened British troops that they surrendered seven months later at Yorktown. This park was established in 1917 to memorialize that battle, one of the earliest events in the area's recorded history and a pivotal moment in the life of the colonies. There are more than 200 acres here, with wooded hiking trails.
