Actually, cocktails aren't the attraction here. It's a karaoke mecca -- one of the first and still foremost locales in the nation to popularize this Idol-age form of self-aggrandizing art (or artlessness, as the case may be). The drinks and drink specials flow aplenty -- the better to loosen the larynx. Whether or not you plan to take the mic, the scene can be as entertaining as it is crowded....

It's the Royal Albert Hall of the New Orleans karaoke scene, such as it is. "American Idol" rejects from the world over stumble to this Bourbon Street neon behemoth to take a crack at "Livin' on a Prayer" and other hits from the club's collection of tunes. Since the drunk, fun-loving crowd is generally supportive of even the most tone deaf singers, it's not a bad place to try your pipes....
