Beware of these scammers - here's how they scammed me!:
I don't even know where to start...so let me break it down.
I needed to remodel my one family house building so I hired David and his brother Eugene. We had a verbal agreement of what they were suppose to do and set a budget. Here are the issues that I had with them and why things didn't work out:
1. Time Is Not Important To Them
I gave them a deadline for when things needed to be completed by and they agreed to it. However, they were negligent of it. They never showed up on time for; whenever I called to ask what time they're coming over, they kept telling me that they'll be there in 20 minutes...but didn't show up until 4-5 hours later. Most times, they didn't even show up at all. I explained to them yet AGAIN that they have to show up on time...but that didn't work. They showed up late but wanted to leave early.
2. Low quality work
They came with a new worker everyday; Eugune even told me that he was disappointed by some of the workers that he hired because they didn't know what they were doing. Again, this is someone who's suppose to be professional. Why would you hire unprofessional people to do a pro's job!
3. Payment on time
I never gave them an issue and made my payments on time. I even paid for more than half of the job even before it was complete because they promised to do it. They are the type of people that want to get paid and will keep bugging you about getting paid WITHOUT doing the work...or very little of it. All they cared about was when they were getting paid. I told them that paying is not an issue as long as the work is done. After paying $1200, all they did was remove sheet rock from a wall.
4. Complaints ignored
After being fed up with the quality of their work, always being late and not paying attention to details, I called David to complain. He assured me that everything would change...but it never did.
5. Itemized list
Before starting the project, I asked them for an itemized list of what they were doing for the $1200, I NEVER RECEIVED IT! He kept promising to give it me but never did. I'm old school with the way I do business; in other words, your word is your bond. Sadly, that's not how they do business.
6. No Receipts
They promised to give me receipts for items bought in the store but gave me a fake one with some of the items they purchased for other thins. When I looked at the receipt, majority of the things were not even used for the job I hired them to do.
7. No refunds
I'm very disappointment at how they've handled the issue. They refused to give me partial refund claiming that they did the work. They were suppose to remove all of the trash and debris but didn't do that. They left all the mess they did...I had to hire others to come and clean their mess.
If you're looking for reliable and professional people to do work on your house. please DO NOT go with these guys because they are scammers and will take your money without doing the work. However, if you have a few thousands of dollars to waste, then they're perfect because that's all they're good for...collecting money without doing the work.
As of today, I'm still waiting for an itemized list and a receipt for what they did. I called them several times...but no answer. They stopped answering my calls and haven't responded to my emails. I'm in the process of filing a legal claim and complaint about their business practices with the BBB.
