As a person who has long had to deal with the NYSIF I cannot say enough on how hateful it is. The people who work there are pathetic slugs sucking the life out of the government payroll. No public sector employer would ever have one of these people and just before you think you have met the most pathetic one, another pile of dung begins to stink up the room. The only humor one can find in dealing with them is that the employees - at all levels I might add - all say "I have no idea how we come up with that number either, its just a formula in the computer". Nothing like knowing what you do for a living, or should I say what you don't do for a living.

Trying to get someone from these offices is like trying to reach the dead. NYSIF has got to be the worst case of government mismanagement. Been trying to reach a "case manager" for months. Never get a phone call or even a letter. Took 5 months to get approved for surgery. What a joke - What a sad state for people who need & want to get back to work - Totally pathetic. Fire the entire lot of lazy inept losers. Its not like they are doing anything anyway.
