Oh my gosh...i had to put a posting here when I saw this. My sister bought a maltese from Olympic Pet Shop and within a couple of months we noticed she had trouble hearing, later found out she was deaf in one ear. When she called the store they told her to refer to the contract she signed and hung up the phone. The only thing they offered was to give the puppy back for a new one but when we asked what they would do to her, they changed the subject. Obviously were gonna put her down. We couldn’t do that to her. So we thought my sister was screwed because of the one year health contract she signed. It was obvious that’s the game they played because they know once someone gets the dog, they get attached and won’t give it back and when we had our family vet check her out within the first 24 hours, she seemed fine at the time (what they hope for). 1-year ago my sister ended up having a family friend adopt bella because they could afford her now knee surgery ($2900 for each leg). We didn’t know our rights and it was hard to see bella go. Bella is in good hands now but has a lot of health problems. She needs to have another knee surgery. I;m going to send this link to my sister and have her contact you. This is a good thing your’re doing. They should be shut down.

PLEASE STOP AND READ THIS. I want to WARN anyone who is considering buying any puppies from them. I bought my puppy 10-months ago. So far other than his regular up-keep and shots, I have spent well over $3000.00 on problems he's had due to heredity. My puppy has now had four diagnosis that are caused by heredity. 1)Crypthorchid (inguinal testical) 2) Medial luxating patella, level 3 in both legs 3) Umbilical hernia 4) And alarming number of retained deciduous teeth (21). Three of which I have addressed, one (luxating patella) is being monitored by a specialist. When I contacted the shop to share my concerns, they denied any problems and demanded my vet’s diagnosis. I went above and beyond and provided them with three. Two from very reputable vets (one, which sent a request to stop breeding with medical back-up) and one specialist. After so much going back and forth, being insulted and played with, their resolution was to return my puppy for a store credit. Knowing that any human being with a heart would be attached to their puppy and would never give up on them just because they are not healthy. In addition, they did not once answer my questions about the parents, bloodline, or the Vet they use. More so, they completely disregarded my Vet and my plea to stop breeding these puppies. I gave them ample opportunity to step up and address this issue to no avail. I have contacted proper authorities and one in particular told me they have had complaints about this Shop and they are searching for more to build their case because somehow they are passing the checkups. If anyone else has had similar problems with their pets purchased from this store, please email me. It’s a long process but the good news is they had been red-flagged and I won’t stop until OPS takes responsibility. They need to realize it’s not about the money, it’s about good/ethical business practices. I went to Olypmic Pet Shop in good faith that my pet would be fully checked, good health and bloodline. And when I asked these questions before I bought him, they assured me he was. But my little puppy has gone through much more pain than dogs twice his age with a good healthy bloodline. As you can imagine, this has not only been difficult on our puppy, it has been devastating to my family not to mention incredibly expensive. PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHOP until they take responsibility. And if you *must*, get vet papers, ask questions and put it in writing; they go against their word!
