Don't rent from here...horrible management:
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. I really don't even know where to begin. These apartments look nice on the surface, but they're run by horrible, negligent and downright rude management.
To begin, I had to pay the entire month's rent for my first month in the apartment, but they wouldn't even let me move in until the end of the month. They kept dragging me along, saying it'd be ready any day, and before I knew it, it was half way through the last week of the month and school was about to start. This is absolutely unacceptable and I'm pretty sure it's illegal.
The entire time I was in the apartment, I could hear water dripping in the walls, and water spots were appearing all over. There were already signs of this when I moved in. I told them about this multiple times, and the maintenance people would come FEEL THE SPOTS(??) and said because they were dry when they felt them, it wasn't a problem! Then, after I moved out, they tried to charge me for the water damage, claiming I never told them!!! These people will try to nickel and dime you to death when you move out. And this wasn't my only maintenance issue I had here.
Our heating and air conditioning were poor at best, and barely functional. During the summer, the a/c would only keep the bottom level cold, while the top was sweltering. No matter how low we turned the a/c. During the winter, neither floor was heated. It was consistently under 60 degrees. Both my roommate and I had to buy space heaters. We told maintenance about both of these issues multiple times, but they never did anything. They would literally just look at it and do nothing. Needless to say this wasn't good for our bills.
The lighting outside sucked, which made it pretty unsafe. There were two multiple armed robberies in the complex. I never felt safe walking to my apartment at night because it was so dark. In the winter, they would only shovel part of the sidewalks, not the part close to the door. So, when you walk into your apartment, there is tons of snow on your shoes.
The location was horrible, it was a pain going anywhere. Uptown is not walkable distance and neither is campus so you either have to drive or take the bus.
The worst part of this experience was the management. The manager, Andrea, is one of the rudest people I have ever met. Every encounter I've had with her, she has a huge attitude and is completely unwilling to help or explain anything. Anytime I had a problem or had any questions, I had to talk to her and it was never a positive experience. I don't know what her deal is, but she obviously hates her job and makes everyone hate living there as well.
