Park Avenue Christian School 2012 Review:
To be honest, everything that they do at PACS is by the book. If you're going to put your child in any private A.C.E. school, you need to make sure that they can pass a diagnostic test for their determined grade/age level; otherwise, they give you a review of sorts by putting you back so you can learn the material and be ready to start your actual grade level. When I started school here in 9th grade, I was behind in both Math and English. I failed both of the diagnostic tests. They required me to complete 6 PACEs of review in Math, and 7 PACEs of review in English. With the teacher’s help and a little elbow grease, I will be able to get the remaining 3 PACEs in Math and English caught up this summer during summer school. I will be caught up and on track to graduate in 2014 by the beginning of next school year. The staff members continually encourage you and are always there if you need help or prayer. If your child can “buckle down” and dedicate themselves to getting “caught up,” then you will want to consider putting them in an A.C.E. school. As for the note taking, we have a Chapel class every Wednesday afternoon that is mandatory for all students to attend. The teachers continually encourage you to take notes in that class, thus giving you experience for college. When you get to college, and you don’t know how to take notes, the only person you have to blame is yourself. Park Avenue Christian School is a great A.C.E. school unlike any of the others that I know about; some of which don’t even care whether you get your work done or even graduate. For this reason, A.C.E. has granted PACS the “Model Status” for having acceptable rules and regulations as well as using the correct PACE procedure. I personally recommend that you put your students into this school, mainly because the teachers make it their goal to see each of their individual students succeed and graduate.
