BEWARE! Please read!:
My husband and I have had the worst luck ever since we've been here. We moved in May 2012 and signed a 1 year contract, which we now regret. First let me start by saying that all of the photos of this place on their website are really old. The place looks nothing like that anymore. It is extremely run down in every aspect of the complex. The only structure that looks well taken care of and newly updated is the main office, gee what a shock. Let me interrupt my own review to say that right now at this very moment I am listening to the couple below me scream at each other while the family of 4 next to us allow their children to scream bloody murder and run around all over the place thumping through their apartment like they're at Chucky fricken Cheeses! It's like a jungle gym every single day around 3:30 when they get out of school. The office management are nice and cooperative AT FIRST, but after a while they get tired of listening to your complaints and give you an attitude and excuses like "well it's not quiet time when these things happen". Ya know, we don't like to have to complain just as much as you don't want to hear it. Nobody in their right mind would want to spend basically a house note to deal with this kind of c@!p on a regular basis. For the people who say we should have rented a house, no doubt we should have but at the time we were trying to leave state and apartments were the only option for early lease termination that didn't suck us dry. So lets just say the walls here are extremely thin as well as the floors and the ceiling. We have had to call the cops numerous times on our neighbors and the people who lived below us, before the fighting couple moved in, wound up being evicted because of their noise disturbances. So I will say that for that incident management took care of it but since we've continued to have bad luck with neighbors, they have pretty much stopped listening to us and we have stopped complaining because it doesn't do any good. Ok, now for the non-neighbor issues. The first week we lived here our little Italian Greyhound, who was on a leash, was attacked by a bull dog/ pit mix who lived in the same building. The guy opened his door without hooking his dog to a leash and it saw us and came running out. It was awful and I'd prefer not to relive the moment. We filed a police report, the man was given citation for his illegal breed in Novi and his violation of leash law and was evicted from the apartment. Come to find out later that the owner of the dog wasn't on the lease and neither was the dog. They were squatting with a relative. Nice. The car ports are super skinny and people around here are very careless when opening their doors. My husband's brand new Charger has 2 massive door dings from the car next to his. Fortunately after a nice note my hubby left for them they quit parking there. The gates and speed bumps are more of a nuisance rather than a deterrent. This place overall has a real ghetto feel and look to it. I wish we would have had more time to shop around for a place to live because we would have kept looking. I do not recommend this place at all under any circumstances. Well, I take that back, for HALF of what we pay I might consider living here. We cannot wait for May to arrive so we can get the heck out of here! No more sharing walls and parking for us! So if you're apartment hunting....keep looking.
