Came here after reading good reviews, but after setting my appointment today with Shaunna, she said I could do a drop off and be done in two hours. Good, I said, because I am paying a caregiver for transportation and care, and we've only got about three hours. I gave them my cat's info, and records, and said she is a scardy cat. My cat is 12 years old, spayed, up to date on her shots, and prefers female vets, that's why I came here. So after 2 hours, I call them from J-ville, and ask about my cat, Shaunna says she's been a good girl and everything is fine. I said, how was the visit? She said the doctor would need to call me. So, I tell her we'll be on our way...So we arrived 3 hours later from the time we dropped her off, and when I got there Shaunna now said, that my cat had not been seen, and the doctor is busy. I said I need to pick up my cat now. She lied to to me all along about whether she had been seen or not, and I sure didn't appreciate that. We had made clear plans about this drop off visit and I clarified with her that I didn't want a drop off to last all day, but only for the two hours or three at most. She said yes, a few hours. So when I get there and find that my cat had not been seen, and a girl brings out my cat to me and tells me they gave her gabapentin to calm her down, I said WHAT??? This unprofessional office broke protocol and trust by NOT calling me to ASK my permission to give such a drug to my cat, nor did they call me to voice any concern about handling my cat or about the lost time by not seeing my cat. They broke a strict rule, and trust by discarding the understanding and trust that binds us to these visits, that the doctor WILL CALL YOU first about any treatment plan BEFORE doing anything. I was very upset, and would have never given them permission to give my cat such a drug. This place just did what they pleased with no discipline to following professional protocol at all. So another day wasted, another incompetent veterinarian office, not worthy of serving the public.
In all the 12 years of my cat's life, has not one vet or veterinarian office complain about handling my female cat except for now. What is wrong with Medford? What I have experienced today is unqualified and unprofessional business practice by which should be reported. My cat was returned, I went home, and the vet herself called me and apologized for the poor treatment her office staff and herself caused us. I would NOT recommend this vet to anyone ever, and would not return ever again.
