PAL is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c) 3 organization that brings people and animals together, brightening the lives of the lonely, easing the pain of the sick, and enriching the world of at-risk children. PAL was founded in 1982 by a local veterinarian, Earl O. Strimple, D.V.M.

Three main programs support our mission: 1) Pet Visit Program. Our senior citizens are often lonely, and visits from the ou...tside world can be rare and brief. PAL coordinates and certifies volunteers and their friendly pets to visit people in need in DC, Maryland and Virginia. There are currently 315 PAL Pet Visit Teams regularly bringing companionship to 30 sites. 2) PAL Club and PAL Camp....
