Editorial Reviews

There are "no pretensions" in sight at this "fun" Williamsburg bar, home to "incredibly hard trivia nights" and other "hipstertasic" events plus a back-room music venue for "up-and-coming artists" that's "as Brooklyn as it gets"; it's "cramped when busy", but there's a "cute" garden for fresh-air fiends.

Number one for quality live music, number one for fun in Williamsburg. A classic space in vintage browns, straight out of The Sting, with a gleaming wood bar and a sexy side make out hallway. This former candy store is Williamsburg’s best place for live entertainment (readings? In a bar?) and games. The bar up front features the famous biweekly spelling bee held every other Monday, bingo on Tuesdays, a quiz-off on Wednesdays, and Scrabble on Saturdays. If games are not your thing, there is live music nightly featuring some of New York’s most promising up-and-coming rock bands.

The front room holds our fully stocked bar complete with our top-rated martini list. There is a cozy middle room that leads into an intimate music room with a sound system, a DJ set up, and a stage. The three rooms have a combined capacity of about 125 people. Come on...
