Phone Booth

Located off any beaten path, Phone Booth attracts a mixed bag of friendly folks--from older neighborhood regulars who start their day with a cocktail to young punky lesbians and rock-and-roll straights. The place is tiny, with some stools at the bar, a few tables and chairs across from it, and a pool table squeezed into the room. Despite itself, the Phone Booth has a great reputation and can get crowded on the weekends. Of course, that only takes 20 people.

Instead of buying dinner, pilfer from the popcorn machine.

This place accepts cash only, but there's an ATM for easy access.

As small as you'd think with a name like "Phone Booth", but free popcorn, bullfighting tapestries, pitchers of Pabst, Barbie chandelier, rouge lighting, even a pool table shoe-horned in. All this, in a no-man’s-land far from civilization at the edge of the Mission, with assorted collection of weirdos, barflies, rockers and gays. Good luck getting the smoke smell out of your Dickies. Random SF...
