Absolute worst!:
My family and I eat at Mexican restaurants at least once each week as this is our favorite food. Our favorite has become El Taco Loco, however, we now live in Chesapeake so we only visit there every couple of weeks. This past week while in the Haygood area decided to eat at the Plaza Azteca and was thoroughly disappointed! This was our second time at this location although our first time was not so good either. We believe in giving a place at least a second chance. Our server was very un-attentive. Our food took a very long time to arrive although it was not overly busy at 6:30 p.m.. When the fajitas arrived they were not even sizzling but appeared to be overly cooked. The person who delivered the meal to the table cautioned against very hot plates but the burritos were cold. When I touched the plate they too were cold. Needless to say the food was sent back. I was alarmed too hear the discussion behind me about complainers at my table. This discussion was in Spanish. I speak and understand the language very well and confronted the two individuals. As it turned out one of them was Phillipe who said he was the manager. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He wanted to remove the meals from our bill but I explained that we only wanted it prepared properly. His best answer was "That's the way we do it here." He then walked away and never returned. Our server arrived and said he knew nothing of what happened, only presented us the bill. I would never recommend this establishment to anybody. As we were leaving others were complaining as well and expressing their agreement with our situation. If you look at their health inspection record it would lead you to believe they really need new management. We dine at Plaza Azteca on Cedar Road in Chesapeake and have always enjoyed it. This is just a bad place to eat.
