Mediocre so far...:
First of all, it should be known we were in dire need of a decent restaurant in the Cream Ridge/New Egypt area.
That being said, unfortunately, that's exactly what we received; merely a decent restaurant. My wife and I started off with a couple of appetizers consisting of shrimp and stuffed mushrooms. While the mushrooms were very good, the price was not. They serve four mushrooms for about $8. For a two dollar mushroom, it better knock my socks off, and these didn't. Again, the theme of the night seems to be "not bad." The shrimp were a travesty, at $9 for four shrimp. They were tasty but ludicrously overcooked. message to the cook: no more than two minutes for shrimp, bud. That's it. Turn up the heat on the oil and make them crispy in those two minutes, or they turn into mush on the inside.
Ok, I got that out of my system. I hope he's listening, but I won't delude myself. The main course of vodka rigatoni was definitely on the upside of vodka rig. Unfortunately, with a bazillion italian eateries available locally, I see no reason to make a special trip to the Grill for it.
