Before a show--there are plenty of nearby theaters--this place is humming (but not crowded), as well as the early evening during the week. Avoid weekends when the Loop empties.

Not many surveyors know this split-level habitat hidden within the Loop's Palmer House Hilton, but those who do call it a "cool" place with "great bartenders" who turn out high-end tipples for pairing with elevated bar bites; the setting gets extra panache from club seating and feather-encased columns.
