Professionalism at its worse.:
Before I hired Mr. Mike Paris (owner) to do the full home inspection on my house before I purchase, I went through and read countless reviews online based on his business. I was overly impressed. With all the shows they have out now on bad home inspectors I knew picking a good one was important, shows like "holmes on homes".
The service I received from Mr. Paris was the exact thing I feared the most. Miss informing and taking advantage of a young couple starting off in life. He missed countless things following are a few examples:
1)leaking kitchen sink (had to replace the cabinet unit and floor under)
2)leaking water heater ( had to have a professional plumber install a new, due to KY laws)
3)broken front door (Foam inside was destroyed and would not hold up, even after I pointed it out to Mr. Paris, while inspecting the home. He said it just needed an adjustment and it was structurally sound)
4) leaking patio door leading to internal floor damage (I also pointed out excessive wear from water damage at the door frame. He stated it was normal, even after I kicked it lightly and the wood crumbled)
5)Brick work in the front bedroom window mortar was gone causing water damage inside the room
All of these things could have been dealt with in a professional matter both before and after purchase, but Mr. Paris declined full responsibility for his service, stating " simple it does not matter, I am not responsible." So I pay you for a professional opinion and it means nothing?
I filed a claim with the better business bureau for the financial damages he cost me before and after purchase of the home. ( In repairs I have totaled over $5000 and that is with me performing the majority of the labor. I cannot calculate how much he could have saved me during the pre-purchase agreement.
Reading over some of the other reviews I do agree with a few things. He is ask fast and he was professional in person. His professionalism falters as soon as things go wrong and personally ill take quality over speed any day, especially for one of the largest purchases a couple may ever make. Mike Paris has placed such a financial burden on my family the future is no longer bright and sunny but a grey and bleak as we find new issues every day.
