Never, Never, Never take your vehicle to this shop!
I have known these guys for 20 years and up until the last couple of times using them it has been great. This last time has been completely unreasonable and Ricky who was my contact person would not take responsibility for any of the delays. My car took 9 weeks to repair plus 1 week for redo’s so 10 weeks total!. My story goes like this.
I had an accident on October 26, 2013 where I hit the passenger side rear panel of the car. It was mostly scratched to view it and it moved the rear of the car enough to alter the trunk lid slightly. Also the rear wheel and suspension was damaged. I called and talked to Ricky at Quality Body Shop and the first question I asked him was if he had time to repair my car, making sure they were not too busy. Ricky responded with a jubilant yes! We can repair your car, no problem, bring it on in.
I had the car towed in, although being somewhat drivable I did not want to incur more damage to the wheel or suspension. This was October 28, 2013 in the morning. I touched base by telephone a few times and was told everything was going great and looking good. When 4 weeks rolled around and my rental car with the insurance ran out the car was still not ready. I was assured they would have the car done soon, maybe another week.
I called in to check on the progress and each time I was told its almost done but they found another part that needed to be replaced. This kept being the story over and over, I suppose they would replace one part at a time to extend the time to get more money out of the insurance, at least this is the insinuation I was given by Ricky. He said this is how you get more out of the insurance company.
After delay after delay finally I was told the car is ready December 30, 2013 at about 4pm, they close at 5:30pm. I scrambled to get someone to bring me to the shop so I could pick my car up. Ricky drove my car around and handed me the keys. I started the car and immediately noticed that the trunk open light was on but the trunk was closed. Ricky and Larry both worked on it for about 25 minutes while I waited. They got the light to turn off then as I was driving away again I noticed that the tint was torn on the drivers side so I backed up and showed it to them, they agreed to pay to have it replaced. Interesting that they did not notice this before driving the car around to me!
The next day I was able to look the car over in the daylight and here is what I found.
1. Front hood grill completely loose (I fixed this)
2. Large sanded spot on paint, rear panel passenger side
3. White overspray over entire car
4. Driver door trim sanded down, no paint
5. Driver side bottom molding loose
6. Scratches below passenger tail light
7. Scratches on trunk lid above BMW emblem
8. Repaired wheel is matte finish the other three are gloss
9. Interior left un-cleaned, possibly stained
10. Headliner/interior at both seat belt fasteners stained with grease
11. Interior trim on passenger side loose and scraped
12. Headliner at rear window loose
13. Swirl marks in overall new paint
14. Overall cleaning of car not done whatsoever
15. Tint torn on drivers side window (repaired 12/31/13)
16. Rattle in passenger side rear wheel
17. Drivers side seat belt does not retract or pull out properly
18. Driver side tail light falls out wont stay in place
Unbelievable! To receive my car back after 9 weeks in this condition! Ricky told me on the phone that if I didn’t like it I could fix it myself! I could have done a better job in my garage with a spray can. I was treated like the whole thing was my fault and they did nothing wrong. My car had to sit for at least four weeks in their shop with no one touching it, when I approached Ricky with this he completely avoided the question and again stated that next time I can fix my car myself! This is a completely unethical business with owners that have great lack of character and integrity, willing to cheat a 20 year customer, I would advise everyone to go anywhere but here… Even repairing it yourself will be better! At least this is what Ricky says…
If you are interested in seeing some pics of the car prior to repair email me and I will send them to you.
