To the Administration and Staff at Queen Anne Manor::
My Mother became a resident of Queen Anne Manor June, 2007, moving here from Idaho where she was living independently and also caring for a friend who was legally blind. Giving up her independence was both difficult and a relief for her-a relief that she no longer had to buy the groceries, cook the meals, pay the bills, and take care of all those responsibilities that living independently entails. In the beginning it was, and to some extent still is, difficult for her to lose control of her everyday life.
Over time, she has developed a very close relationship with her caregivers, affectionately thinking of them as family. She also views the administrative staff as part of that extended family. Her needs have increased during her stay at Queen Anne Manor and those needs have been met in a way that exceeded our expectations. She is always treated with dignity and respect by everyone from the friendly and helpful front desk to the competent nursing staff and caregivers, the dining room staff, the housekeepers, and the administration. There is a willingness to listen to her and to try to satisfy any needs and concerns she may have. Consequently, my siblings and I are confident that at Queen Anne Manor she will receive the best care we could find anywhere.
