I was helping a friend of mine liquidate a household and a family member recommended RS Cook Auctions. I did not do any research on the company and my good friend was duped. I understand being in a recession is not the best time to be selling your wares, but receiving 10% of the value of ALL merchandise? REALLY? Is that common? If that's "just how it is these days" then make a charitable donation; it's better use of your assets. Back to the business practices, though, she was lied to and had items stolen from her. Items that were taken to the auction house were not documented properly (he had to be reminded by one of his employees what he had taken) I personally went to the auction house in Keizer and found it unlocked. Are you kidding me? Who doesn't lock their inventory? If your belongings are not important to you (or your loved ones belongings) then by all means, sign up. You'll get what you pay for and give away more than you want to.
