Rebuttal to D. Braatz:
D. Braatz was given a over the phone "estimate" for repairing a foot valve he self-diagnosed. It's an estimate because I hadn't seen his system yet. Only one man was needed to replace the foot valve. Cost for that service call was $354.75. Under the estimated price of $540.00 that D. Braatz was complaining about. We could have sent an additional technician, but that would only have cost him additional money.

The technician couldn't prime the pump after the foot valve was installed because there were numerous vacuum leaks in D. Braatz's system unrelated to our repair. D. Braatz was informed of those leaks before our technician left the jobsite.

D. Braatz called to report he was still having problems and self-diagnosed problem again as a faulty foot valve. The technician proved the new foot valve was function properly and did not need replacement. The technician showed a female occupant of the house a system leak and the air bubbles relating to the system since D. Braatz was not home during this service call.

The leaks were repaired and the pump was pumping again but the jet nozzle of the pump clogged up due to heavy buildup of mud and rust in the pipes. The technician had to removed the pipes from the well three times due to the heavy buildup of iron and mud. The technician informed D. Braatz that his offset pipes needed replacement. This second service call totaled $585.00 and was not related to the first service call.

The final service call was to replace the water lines due to the heavy buildup of mud and iron in D. Braatz's pipes. Again, not related to the first service call. Mr. Braatz had agreed to the replacement of these pipes. I estimated the cost to replaced these pipes at $1,100.00. The final bill came to $1,112.75, just $12.75 over the estimate.

D. Braatz was treated fairly and billed a fair price for the work completed.

D. Braatz decided he had been mistreated and he would not need to own up on his responbility to pay for our services. This case was settled with legal assistance.

My Recommendation is Do Not Call Rainbow Pump part of The Casey Jones Family of Businesses:
The Casey Jones Family of Businesses includes Rainbow Pumps! I called Casey Jones 541-747-2806 about a well problem and they sent out Rainbow Pumps.
I was told that two men would come out to change the foot valve the cost would be less that $540. Then they only sent one man. Apparently he didn’t know what he was doing.
He did pull the well piping and replaced the bad foot valve. But the foot valve he put in was defective.
I got a call that he had done everything he could think of and couldn’t get the pump to prime. (Just as a side note I have more than 50 years of pump and well experience myself with Certifications I just don’t have the equipment to pull the well piping myself)
Any way to make a long story short What should have been less that $540 turning into a bill for $2097.66.
