The best place to start a tour of Alexandria's Old Town is at the Alexandria Visitors Center at Ramsay House, the home of the town's first postmaster and lord mayor, William Ramsay. The unusually helpful staff hands out brochures and maps for self-guided walking tours. You can also use a free computer station to plan your travels.
