Editorial Reviews

Once the go-to club for name jazz acts, Regattabar has lately scaled back its music roster to host private events. Regulars still include top guitarists (John Scofield, Mike Stern, Wayne Krantz, Pat Martino) and local favorites (Mike Bono, Matt Savage). Tickets for shows are $20–$35. The dark 250-seat club with jaunty nautical decor offers reasonably priced fare and drinks.

The Regattabar's selection of local and international jazz artists is among the best in the area. The large third-floor room holds about 225. Buy tickets in advance or at the door an hour before show time.

Open Tuesday through Saturday...

The classy, sleek Regattabar, in the Charles Hotel just off Harvard Square, gathers superlative accolades as easily as it attracts the top names in jazz. It’s acknowledged as Boston’s top jazz club and usually listed among the best in America, with the likes of Wynton Marsalis and Dizzy Gillespie having played here. It’s not just the music that’s good at Regattabar – the atmosphere is cool and...

Information from the business

Located inside of the Charles Hotel , this is one of the best jazz clubs in Boston. Playing host to international, national and local musicians, you can expect good jazz whenever you go. Past performers include Branford Marsalis, Michael Brecker, McCoy Tyner and Ruth Brown. A long bar, serving great martinis, stretches along the back wall. Between the bar area and the dance floor there are...
