Made me wait in the sun for over an hour, then admitted that they'd been lying:
After making a reservation with this company online (where they had claimed to be "on airport") I received an email which said, "Upon arrival at the ONT airport, please call us at 909-635-2600 and exit the baggage claim area and catch the CAR RENTALS courtesy shuttle to the car rental site. Then look for the Rent4Less free shuttle which will be waiting in the Off Car Rental Parking area to pick you up."
OK, so not exactly "On Airport", but they were claiming to be a whole lot cheaper, so I did as instructed. As soon as I got off the plane, I called them from my cell and was informed that the driver was being dispatched.
I took the shuttle to the Off Car Rental Parking area, but they weren't there yet, so I waited.
And waited.
After 20 minutes I called them again, and was told that the driver had already been dispatched and would be there any minute, so I waited.
And waited.
Another 10 minutes go by, and I still haven't seen anyone, so I call them again.
You get the idea. To make a long story short, I waited at the parking area (with no shade or facilities) for over an hour. I called them 4 times, and each time was given a different (and conflicting) story, but each time was told that someone was on the way. It was only after I called the regional office that someone did finally show up.
Now get this: the driver tells me that he just got the call and came straight over when he did. He tells me that sometimes the phones in their facility are all busy, and it will ring over to a different facility. He claims that the folks at the other facility will tell you that they're dispatching someone, but won't actually do anything.
So basically, the guy admits to me that I've been lied to every time I called, and I've been waiting for over an hour for no reason, but it's not his fault. And then he expects me to get in the car and get a rental from this company.
So, I instead went and rented a car at the last minute from someone else with no reservation, paying $100 more for 3 days. Thanks, Rent4Less, you sure cost me a lot of time and money!
