When I first heard of Rent-A-Center, I didn't think highly of it. But now that I have worked with them I have found that it is a great set-up, especially for my budget. Having moved with no furniture, and only a bag of clothing to my name, I was able to get my basic furnishings through the rent-to-own system. It gives me good-quality furniture without having to pay a large sum up-front. The only problems I had with Rent-A-Center were mainly caused by my own failure to make a payment on time, and I was able to work with the manager to reconcile my problems. There was one staff member who was making things difficult by refusing to listen, or let me talk to someone else. I went into the store and spoke directly with the manager and had that problem resolved, and since then I have had no problems. When I recently moved to a house across town, Rent-A-Center moved all the furniture that I had rented from them for free-- even when they were fully paid off! I enjoy looking for marked down items, as they might be slightly damaged but the prices are great for such minimal and aesthetic problems.
