Just a followup to my last review of October 11, 2018...
Since my last review, I have received over a dozen replies in reference to this Sprouse Construction Company. Almost worth a class action with the responses I received. Apparently, Sprouse Construction is not only taking $$ from the people of Alabama but also in Florida, where hurricanes have recently hit the hardest. BEWARE FOLKS.. here is a letter I received from a job in Esambia, Florida in May 2018....more to follow;

We paid **** ******* of ******* Construction $14,405 to complete a retaining wall and concrete deck. He destroyed our yard and never came back. On 4/3/18 we hired **** ******* of ******* Construction P.O. Box *********************, FL XXXXX to put in a retaining wall and concrete deck to be completed by the end of April. We have since found out his true address is *** ****** *********** ** ****** Alabama XXXXX and that he is not even licensed to do business in Esambia county Florida. We paid him $8,702.50 on 4/3. He worked partial days on 4/10, 4/11 and on 4/12 he stated we had to pay another $5,702.50 so his crew could work straight through the weekend (which we did) and we never saw him or his crew again. We called him constantly and left messages, and never got a call back. We sent him emails and he blocked us. A guy named Big Mike showed up on 4/23-4/25 stating that **** hired him to put cinder block on top of the footer that **** put in. The blocks were never completed and no part of the footer or the blocks were level or straight. Mike stated **** never paid him and wanted us to give him money. We explained we did not hire him, the wall isn't completed it is not straight or level and clearly not structurally safe.What little they did of a wall is falling over. Our yard has not been safe or secure since **** showed up. The damages they left our yard: 1. They broke the fence along one entire side of the back yard so that our yard is not secure. They put the footer and laid block up against the fence so what they didn't break down is falling over from the weight. 2. They gouged all the grass out in the front and side yard leaving massive trenches in the dirt. They dug up all the grass behind where the wall was to be. 3.Broke the cement covering our drain in the front and chipped the pavers around our driveway. 4. Gouged the pool deck and cracked it around the pump with a front end loader. 5. They broke all the sprinkler system lines and drainage lines. 6. **** has taken $14,405 of our money and fraudulantly told us he had knowledge and experience with this job, and that he was a local company. We were forced to hire a new contractor and all the contractors I interviewed stated this was the worse mess they had ever seen and what **** did put in had to be removed.It was the wrong type of materials and placed wrong, it would never have held and was falling over and bowed out immediately. The new contractor started work on 5/25. He discovered more unseen damage, **** broke all our irrigation lines and put the cement over them for the footer. These were leaking under the footer and causing what **** put in to fall down. All drain lines from the downspouts were broken and covered up with dirt to hide the fact they broke them and never reconnected them. There was not one thing done right. The block that was laid for the wall was crooked, bowed out, would never have been able to hold,and is already failing in multiple places. You can actually push your foot against the wall and it collapses immediately. **** took our money and didn't complete the wall, nor any of the other items on the contract. Even if he had completed the wall it was not structurally sound. We have now had to pay a competent company to remove the footer and all of the cinder blocks **** had laid on top of it, also to replace all our irrigation and drain pipes as well as the damage to our yard and install a correct retaining wall. We want our money back and for the public to be aware so they are not harmed financially or having their yard damaged the way we were.
Desired Outcome
I want a complete refund of the monies we have paid **** *******, $14,405. We also have to pay for the damages he did to our yard (new sod), sprinkler system, downspout drainage system and concrete that he broke as well as the cost to remove the inferior footer and cinder blocks he attempted to install and I feel this is clearly his responsiblity as well.
