In 1956, what is now Rick's Tavern was being used as a tool shed, adjacent to a sawmill north of Newfane Village. Later, the shed was moved to it's present location and became "Marie's Dinette",which closed around 1959 because of "improper facilities"...their outhouse wasn't adequate for a public restaurant.
