Frustrated!:
What a frustrating experience when I was really sick!
I called to the office (Ringer Back & Injury Clinic) to make an appointment when I had a bad back pain.
My insurance used to cover Chiropractics for many years so I gave them a brief info about this when I called and arrived.
I told them I have an appointment of X-Ray at a Hospital in the afternoon, but they recommended taking it in their office next day. I told them that I will take X-Ray in their office ONLY when my insurance covers chiropractics.
What did they say? "No problem, we know your insurance very well and verify the insurance ASAP"
I took several services "next day" without any insurance issue.
However, one week after....they gave me a big bill for all services since my insurance dropped the chiropractic benefits several months ago.
Whatever situations are, they should have verified the insurance as they promised. But I was ok because it's an insurance policy I have.
A receptionist even told me that they're going to apply a special rate for uninsured patients. I appreciated.
Next day, they changed their words....they are going to charge more than double than the uninsured rate promised.
What they said to me is "I don't care...what another receptionist told you..."
Yes.....what I heard was "I DON’T CARE…”
All staff including the doctor told me that they requested the insurance verification on that day I visited the office for the first time. If they really did, we could avoid any insurance issue.
But....
What I found after I contacted my insurance company is that they did request the insurance verification THREE DAYS LATER!
Yes, they lied on the above insurance verification date until I found the fact.
I asked them "Why did you promise to verify the insurance on the first day....but didn't do it for three business days?"
The answer....?
"BECAUSE WE HAVE TOO MANY PATIENTS…."
Unbelievably, it's their excuse for their lie to the patient.
I couldn't believe what I heard....
Patients want to be cared when they are sick...It's a very simple fact.
But they provided wrong info to the patient until patient find the fact....Yes, they even INSISTED that they requested the insurance verification on the first day and BLAMED the insurance company's delay on the response.......
It's really sad to see this type of unprofessional and "I don't care" business in my neighbor...
What I can say at this point is that "This is the worst experience I have ever had in my life."
"I don't care.." "We have too many patients"...
