Great food, but I need more coffee refills:
I always get the Scoes #1 with coffee when I come here. In my opinion, I think the food is overpriced, but it's the closest to real Southern food I can get out here in LA. I'm going to start asking for two cups of coffee, because I hardly ever see the waiter in my section, so I usually never get a refill. Food has always arrived fast though. My friend lives right down the street, so I'll be back for more.

Chicken 'n Waffles:
This most popular branch of the local Roscoe's chain is always packed. Be prepared to wait for a table. Call ahead and you can pick up food curbside. Chicken and waffles do go together! Great biscuits and gravy, greens, red beans, grits and corn bread. Don't be surprised to see your favorite musician or hip hop artist here - the place is very popular. If you don't want to wait go to the Roscoe's in Pasadena. I also like the south LA location (be prepared to wait there too).

Editorial Reviews

"The perfect blend of salty and sweet" awaits in the "sublime" signature dish at this "legendary" soul-food chain that "sets the standard" matching "succulent" fried chicken with "light, fluffy" waffles for a pairing that "goes together better than peanut butter and jelly"; the "old-school" digs are "not much to look at" and service can be "so-so", but even so, it "doesn't disappoint"; P.S....

Don't be put off by the name of this casual eatery, which honors a late-night combo popularized in Harlem jazz clubs. Roscoe's is the place for real down-home Southern cooking. Just ask the patrons, who drive from all over L.A. for Roscoe's bargain-price fried chicken, wonderful waffles (which, by the way, turn out to be a great partner for fried chicken), buttery chicken livers, and toothsome...

Roscoe's House of Chicken `n' Waffles Restaurant Review:
The name may sound offbeat, but we assure you that this down-home combination really works, with sweet cinnamon-flavored waffles complementing crispy, Southern-style fried chicken. The prices are a bargain, rendering the Colonel obsolete. Plenty of folklore explains the origins of this dish, popular in the South, but one of the more credible explanations involves nightclubs from the Jazz Age in...

Though not your typical Hollywood hotspot, Roscoe's House of Chicken N' Waffles is an LA staple. Herb Hudson's decision to bring his Harlem franchise out West has been satisfying Angelinos with a mean appetite for years. Yes, you may be thinking what kind of combination is fried chicken and waffles? But don't knock it ‘til you've tried it...Some down home cooking and a friendly atmosphere has...
