I take my mother-in-law to see Dr. Rothenberg & find he sold the practice to a Dr. Poulos who isn't even on the website. Rothenberg was great & very caring. This guy's a cold fish who only cares about bucks. Says her previous treatments need to be redone. Second opinion dentist says that's baloney. So if you like pain & a picked pocket see Poulos. R. I had to find a dentist because I had a bad toothache. But I am very afraid of dentists. After hours of researching on line and calling several offices for information, I decided to go with Rothenberg?TLC Dental because they were the nicest on the phone.

The hygienist went over my medical history and took x-rays. She talked to me about things I could do to stay healthier. I didn't know that my diabetes was contributing to my oral condition and that my poor dental health was making my diabetes worse. Dr Rothenberg examined my teeth and compassionately explained my options. I told him that I don't go to the dentist because of fear of pain and also fear of the cost.

He told me that my health is more important than the cost and that they could help me find a way to pay for it. Another person came in and went over the cost with me. She explained a promotional offer from a healthcare credit card company that would allow me to pay over time with no interest.

I have had two appointments so far and I can't get over how nice they all were to me. The doctor is so gentle that I feel a bit embarrassed that I was so afraid. But he said "Don't worry about that, a lot of people feel that way. But once they allow themselves to get started, they realize that they unnecessarily had over-rated anxiety."
He's actually a pretty funny guy. I don't want him to quit his day job, but he could also be a great stand up comedian. He makes me laugh so much that I almost enjoy going to the dentist..
His front office team were so understanding of my circumstance and even gave me an additional discount.

I highly recommend this office. It's the one with the big tooth mailbox.

After calling dentists in the area to find one that doesn't require payment at the time of treatment, their office agreed to it over the phone. All they asked was I bring my insurance card and they have other patients with the same insurance carrier that I do. Made my appointment, got my cleaning done, then report to the window before leaving. Then the receptionist tried to badger me into paying for it right then and there, after we already made the agreement on the phone. She then tells me their policy is pay on the day of treatment. I remind them of our phone conversation and they still kept badgering me. One receptionist took it upon herself to file for care credit without asking my permission and after I repeatedly told her no, don't do that because I won't sign for it and it will not go through. About 2 weeks later I get a letter in the mail from care credit about being denied credit, so apparently she illegally filed for the credit using my name without my permission. I don't believe the dentists know anything about this. After getting that letter of denial, I called and cancelled all appointments with their office. I told them why, and the lady I spoke to used the following stupid excuses for illegally filing for credit in my name w/o my permission: "You gave us your personal information" to which I responded "I did not give you any credit information or permission to do that" "You were at the window" to which I respond "Being at a window does not give you the right to use my name to apply for credit. It requires MY permission. " Then she lies again and tells me I said yes. My reply "You did not even ask me, you just stated you were going to try that and I told you no. No and yes do not sound alike and I wouldn't tell you it won't go through and I won't sign for it if I did say yes. " They hung up without an apology and were too stupid to realize they did something wrong and illegal. The Better Business Bureau was notified of this. Any receptionist this unprofessional should not be in this profession. They were way too stupid, ignorant, and incompetent.
