Unreal & fantastic place!:
I just had to comment on the review that was posted by "Missy". I have been taking my pups to Safari since they were 4 months old and this lady ain't gotta clue. I happened to be there when this woman went off the deep end. She says she has all of this education and acted the way she did? OH PLEASE!! I would have died or wished I were dead if I behaved that way in public. I felt sorry for the receptionist. What were they supposed to do? This mad women was threatening to go and take her dogs no matter what. Fixing to open every door, run up the hallway, etc. She really went off! I was thoroughly entertained by the arrival of the cops & emergency personel as was the rest of the clientel that got to see this free show. The owner, a old badly groomed old man with beady little eyes? She obiviously didn't look in th mirror before she left home! OMG...she could only wish she looked as good as any of the employees there. THEY HAVE REAL CLASS! And as far as being told that 1st time clients can't write a check, well honestly, who writes checks anymore. I'm so sure that her favorite market or gas station welcomes them. You have to cover yourself as a buisness owner. Ask anyone that owns their own business how many times they've gotten burned by accepting checks. If she had no other means than a freakin check, then she should have been the one to ask. Who doesn't have a debit card and should it had been stolen, etc. then she and her highly educated self should have known to ask. After the show she put on and when they finally got this lunatic out of there, the employees shook it off and carried on as usual....happy,smiling and extremely confident in their employment, employers, and all their 4 legged clients. I have heard several times from each of their receptionist as well as the kennel staff, that their job was the best. Yep, I certainly would love to work there and out of the cubical that I'm in. So lady, again, thanks for the show! Safari is so much better off without people like your crazy self. I kinda feel sorry for her dogs, they are probably crazy too! The rest of the clients were laughing at her after they got her out of there. How embarrasing. If I were you, I'd change my name and move out of state! You are a living example of NUTS!

We would like to take a moment to thank all of our current, past and future clients for trusting Saf...:
We would like to take a moment to thank all of our current, past and future clients for trusting Safari Pet Resort, Inc. to care for your pets over the past thirty years and those ahead. Being in business for this length of time, we feel very blessed to have earned the respect of you and thank you for voting us as the People's Choice Ruthie Award winner for all four years since the Favorite Boarding Kennel Category was established. We feel our clientele is quite above average; after all, rarely do we meet unkind Pet Lovers! We do feel it is unfortunate, however, to occasionally encounter false or unsubstantiated statements on some local postings such as Yellowbot. We welcome any customers’ suggestions or concerns when offered in a professional manner, and have always made it our top priority to follow through with our pledge for doing our utmost to keep your pets safe and healthy, as well as pampered, when you cannot. Please feel free always to contact our office at 615-890-3732 or our email at
[email protected] with any questions or concerns you may have. To all our four-legged and two-legged friends, we look forward to seeing you on Safari! Richard and Susan Cleveland, owners

Horrible place horrible people:
Do I have story for you. If you love your pet DO NOT Take them to this terrible place. The owner is a horrible person and the employees are all liars that are interested only in covering their own mistakes. I had passed this place several times on the way to my friends house and thought it looked interesting. Myself, my husband, our 3 children (9, 8 and 5) and our 2 beloved dogs were due to leave on our family vacation first thing Friday morning. I had a whim to have the dogs groomed before we left town so they would not shed in the car, since our regular groomer was booked, I called Safari Pet Resort and they said they had a couple of openings Thursday morning so I booked them. Happily, I arrived with my pups and dropped them off. I was told they would be ready at 2:00 and came back promptly at that time. Upon arrival
I asked the total and pulled out my check book. The receptionist (not the one that checked my dogs in that morning) said that they could not accept a check from a first time customer. I explained that unfortunately, a week before my debit card from my bank was damaged and the bank advised me to destroy it before throwing it away and they would mail another one right away. So consequently, I was without one and since I am a graduate student I cannot afford to have high interest credit cards and do not want any until after I graduate with my MAT in Education. A little background information, so this story makes sense; as a graduate student all of my financial aid refunds, scholarships, loans and grants are funneled into a bank account through Horizon One in partnership with Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Please keep in mind that I am an online student (for the past 2 years) and a long time Murfreesboro resident with plenty of ID to back up my local address which is on the check and my ID. Anyway, back to the story, I explain that it is a local check but my bank does not have a branch here in Tennessee so I cannot just run to the bank and do a cash draw and with a hundred things left to do did not feel the need or have the time to run all over town trying to talk a check cashing place into cashing a check drawn on a University credit Union. So, I reiterate the fact that if only I had been told about the policy of no checks on the first visit, when I made the appointment, or told when I dropped the dogs off, or if there was even a sign, then I would not have even booked the appointment or dropped the dogs off. They new I was a first time client so why wait until I come to pick up the dogs??? Ok, Here is where the horror starts. This old, badly groomed, man (the owner??) comes out of the grooming room and immediately starts in about the policy, I explain my predicament and tell him that if there is a problem he can just call and verify my check but I really want my dogs back. He proceeds to tell me he will not call to verify the check and I am going to have to leave my dogs until I come back with cash. He then looks at me and squints his beady little eyes and says you are displaying all of the behaviors of someone trying to write a bad check. To which I respond, then why would I be begging you to call my bank to verify the check??? I could not believe any professional business person would ever say something like that to a customer. He went on to say many more rude things at which point I blew my top and begggged him to call the police. Even the police officers we aghast at his behavior and the behavior of the other employees, there were four officers called to the scene, if you can believe that... All I wanted was to pay for my dogs and be on my way to do the other hundred things to get my family ready to leave in the morning. Thank God I did not bring my children with me to witness that display. All over a check for $91.00. When it came down to it I was so harassed and exhausted ( I had been there for about 2 hours!!!) my heart started to pound too fast, I was hyperventilating and felt like I was going to pass out. One of the officers called an ambulance. Here is the kicker.....one of the paramedics had had a horrible experience with Safari Pet Resort as well that resulted in the staff yelling at her and calling her a liar after they almost killed her greyhound when she left it with them for a week. She said she has since talked to others about her experience with these people and found several others with very similar experiences. Their dogs had been neglected and came home sick as well. Nevertheless, I will continue to blog, and tell everyone I know about this horrible experience.
