Renting a storage unit may seem like an open and shut task: You open the door, stack your things, lock the door and leave, sometimes for years. But self storage isn't so simple. Even though your things are just resting in the dark, in a substandard facility they could be ruined. They could warp, mold, bake, or become infested by bugs. Even worse, they could be stolen!
