Old-fashioned Japanese food, by California standards, is what Yoshino’s does best. Kimono-clad waitresses serve hot Jasmine tea and miso soup. We like to drop in for a plate of hot tempura or a few yakitori skewers before making our way up the hill into Hillcrest for a night on the town. Sushi is available, but it’s not the real draw.
