Home Security Made Simple!:
I recently had Sampson Ironworks to come my home and install burglar bars. The process was very pleasant. The owner Victor came out to my home and discussed the different options with me. We talked about the fire escape exit types available for the bed rooms, styles of the bars, designs of entry doors, installation method, external/internal bars and available colors. He was very informative and patient with all my questions. He reviewed my home and gave me his recommendations. At the end of our first appointment, he gave me a quote and asked me to let him know. Being a good consumer, I had two other burglar bar companies come out and give me quotes. One company was cheaper and the other was more expensive. Sampson Iron works was the middle of the road.

I called Victor and let him know I would like to proceed with my installation. He was back out at my home the very next day. He measured all the windows and doors, brought samples of the fire escape exit for me to review, let me pick a color from a very wide selection of colors, and took my check for half the quoted price. He let me know he would need five business days to complete the work in his shop. During our conversations, I learned that Victor fabricates and paints all the equipment in his shop. He is an experienced welder and takes pride in his work. When he left my house, I felt pretty good about the experience thus far.

Five business days later, I got all call from Victor letting me know that my bars were ready and they could come out any time to do the installation. They were at my house the next day for the installation. Victor and two of his employees did all the installation work. The installation process was very efficient. They unloaded each section to be installed, one at a time, and placed them at each window within the home. They took extreme care not to damage anything within my home. The installation process took approximately 5 hours. That’s installation of burglar bars on 8 windows and 3 doors. They used non-reversible screws and predrilled all the holes. All the bars were well painted with commercial oil base paint. I picked an off white color to match my curtains. Each window section was secured into the wall from the sides and the base of the window. There was enough room at the top that it was not necessary to adjust my pull down shades. The installation of each door was recessed into the door jam and with two dead bolts per door. The front door included a turn door handle, along with the two dead bolts, and decorative designs (which was free of charge).

Once all the bars were installed, they pained each screw used on the installation the same color as the bars. They vacuumed each work area, replaced curtains that needed to be moved, and took care to make sure everything was back into its’ place. One of window installations near my TV. They didn’t need to move it and were very careful. Once everything was done, Victor did a walk through with me and gave me the keys to my new security doors. As said, each door had two dead bolts. These dead bolts are designed to be tamper resistant and cannot be unscrewed without a key. All the dead bolts were keyed alike for my convenience . Victor had offered to key them the same as my house key, but I opted to take on the new key. I consider having the same key for everything about as wise as using the same password for everything. When they left my home I felt really good about the money spent.

However, the evening after my installation, I discovered that the locking mechanisms on my fire escape windows were all not working as expected (like the demo Victor showed me). I was laying in bed at midnight and it was really bothering me. I pulled out my phone and send Victor a quick email about it. The next morning at 7am, I received a reply from Victor saying they would get right out to get that fixed. They were back at my house at 2pm. They fixed the problem, cleaned up their work, and made me a happy camper.

The only other question you might be asking is why I decided to get security bars installed. Unlike most stories, I wasn’t burglarized ahead of time. A friend of mine was. After weeks of consideration and armed with the knowledge the a burglar alarm can be disabled with a cut of your home phone line, I decided this was the best option for me. Did I already have a burglar alarm? Yes. Do I still have one? Yes. Do I sleep better at night? Your darn right.

To receive a well designed product coupled with first class service is rare these days. The only good way I could really thank Victor for his excellent work was to write this review. In knowing that, I took the extra time to let people know that if you’re in South East Texas and in the market for burglar bars, Sampson Ironworks is the way to go. They service from the Greater Houston Area to the Louisiana border. My only regret in getting to know Victor is that I’ll only get to do business with him again is if I move.

Exceptionally excellent:
Victor has been VERY accommodating from the initial contact with him up until the completion of work. He has gone out of his way to understand, explain, and help us out of our predicament. After brief dealings with others in this industry, Victor is a very pleasant man who is thoroughly knowledgeable about his business, and he is definitely the only person I would recommend for any work needing this type of service. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, VICTOR!!!
