Worst Dealership Experience Ever:
The reason I went to the dealership instead of another shop was because I had great experiences with the Dodge Dealership in Colorado where I purchased the truck. It was a huge mistake to assume I would get similar service at Dodge City in Milwaukee.
I went in to have the hitch assembly replaced and the guys in the body shop did a good job and were very nice. I decided to also have basic maintenance done by the service departmenty before I made the 1000 mile drive to Colorado.
The service department changed my oil, filter, and did a tire rotation, etc... I picked the car up and on my way back to downtown Milwaukee MY RIGHT REAR WHEEL FELL OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY! Luckily I was entering downtown where the highway splits and narrows. I had slowed down to around 50mph. Just minutes earlier I was traveling at 70mph with cars all around me. I was fortunate not be involved in a major accident.
When the truck was repaired (new rear wheel, new brake rotor, new wheel studs, etc...) I returned to Dodge City thinking they would do something to make me feel better about the fact their negligence could have killed me. The manager of the service department seemed to think that fixing the damage they did to my truck was enough. He had no intention of even offering to refund the money I paid to have their incompetant mechanic work on my truck. We continued to insist he do something and he reluctantly gave me $100 which was about what the services cost.
Months later I took my truck to the dealership in Colorado for it's next service. I asked to have the tires rotated again. As it turns out the incompetant mechanics at Dodge City overtightened the lugs so much that the guys at the Colorado dealership had to drill out my lug nuts and wheel studs to get the wheels off. Fortunately I did not have to deal with this on the side of a busy freeway. It cost $300 to have the wheels removed from my truck.
I wrote a polite letter to, John Dunk, the General Manager of Dodge City asking for them to pay the $300. I sent the letter certified mail and enclosed all the receipts showing the work done by both dealerships. Not only did Dodge City not offer to pay the $300, they never even bothered to respond to my letter.
The people at Dodge City were so incompetant, unpleasant, and unprofessional that I feel compelled to prevent as many people as possible from making the mistake I made. These people could have killed me, and they acted as if it was no big deal. After damaging my vehicle a second time, they won't even respond to me let alone cover the cost of their mistakes.
Do not trust these people with your vehicle. If you value your car, your money, your time, or your health, go somewhere else. There are good shops and dealerships all over Milwaukee. This is not one of them.
