Editorial Reviews

A "sweet little corner tavern" that's "one of the most intimate music rooms" in town, this "quaint", "reasonable" Lakeview "favorite" set in an old Schlitz brewery building showcases "new singer/songwriters" and other "impressive acts"; plenty of early comers also opt to "grab a bite before the show" at Harmony Grill, its "wonderful", adjacent "comfort-food" kitchen.

Schuba's is classy and clean with a great sound system. Its music room provides a grown-up atmosphere for enjoying folk, alt-country and non-aggro rock performances by local upstarts, occasionally hosting big names like the Walkmen, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and Feist. No cover required to drink at the front bar where you can hear the muffled music seeping through.
