Description

Under the direction of Music Director Gerard Schwarz since 1985, this modern-minded orchestra is recognized for its adventurous programming and tradition of performing music by contemporary composers. Its appeal continued to grow when they moved to the acoustically impressive Benaroya Hall in 1998. The 2005-2006 season includes nearly 220 performances in Benaroya Hall and additional community concerts throughout the Puget Sound region. Guest stars include comedians Bob Newhart and Brad Garrett and Arlo Guthrie performing the 40th anniversary of "Alice's Restaurant."
