History: The name 7 Rivers was chosen for the course because of the 7 rivers in Citrus County. The first talk of a second golf course, in this area, took place in the Green Tavern in March of 1965 with Jack Emerson, Edna Merriken, James Pompeo, Gil Stoney and Ray Whitmer in attendance.
