Carol, it saddens me to read that you were not happy with the advice you received from me and my staff. Along with an apology to you, I must offer readers clarification on several points because it is important that they understand the facts.
Our clients rely on us to carefully review the many plans available on the market today and recommend those that provide comprehensive coverage at the most satisfactory price.
We scrutinize the plans and carefully search for the holes--the coverage gaps that could cost you dearly at time of claim. We reject more plans than we approve. During one meeting with an insurance company representative, I tore up the new plan brochure. I told him, "We don't sell junk and call it insurance."
When a client wants to purchase or change to a plan we don't recommend, we explain what the coverage gaps are. Carol chose to change her plan to one we didn't recommend.
I won't post details and violate client confidentiality, but I will say that the unrecommended plan that Carol chose was less expensive because it had significant gaps in coverage. In fact, the new health reform made the plan illegal. Fortunately for her, insurers have now revised their contracts.
Again, I take my client's concerns very seriously. I take great care to make sure they are all well protected. We contact our clients periodically and always invite them to review their plans and look at new options.
