Tips

Save Time: If there's a long line, try the smaller dining room next to the main one. You don't get the same ambience, but you do get the same food.

Atlanta breakfast diner icon since 1956:
Old school breakfasts that draws in all sorts of crowds; very cheesy cheese grits; yummy pancakes; friendly and attentive waitstaff (perhaps of the same vintage as the restaurant); traditional candies that are hard to find outside of purchasing them online.

Black coffee, backslapping and country ham: The power breakfast--good ole boy style--is alive and well in Midtown.:
The Scene
Small and worn, but inevitably busy, this old-school diner is a Midtown morning destination. Likeably Deep South, the small dining room and counter are an early-morning salt...

Information from the business

In the world of the classic greasy spoon, The Silver Skillet stands as Atlanta's benchmark for quaint quality. The home cooked Southern dishes are heavily laden with gravy, sauces, flavor and calories, but who cares? The lunch specials arrive at your table in enormous portions and irresistible. You can always wash the grits down with fresh buttermilk and sweet tea, another Southern tradition....
