Don't waste your time:
I went into the Webster office for a cleaning and an evaluation. When I went into the X-ray room there was a sign posted $50 exam and x-rays, I thought great, but the web ad states free exam and x-ray. I was getting a bit skeptical. After an exam by the dentist, they had to send a finance guy in. This is alarming, I just need a cleaning wasn't sure when financing became a part of that. After the finance guy comes in he tells me I need several crowns and major work done and after my insurance it would be $6399.00. I told him I will not finance this I want to pay in cash and spread it out over a few months, he states well we really need to do it quickly, these problems won't fix themselves. After I continued to refuse their financing options he said that I alteast need to do the "deep cleaning" and it would be $479.00. I asked about the insurance he claims the insurance will cover $123 of it and I needed to pay the rest, I asked what about the insurance covering 2 cleanings a year, this is one of them, he said that they couldn't do that kind of cleaning on me that I needed another type of cleaning. After reluctantly agreeing I went into the cleaning room, there was no "deep cleaning" that went on, however I was told that I would have to come back in 2 more times that the cleanings take 3 visits. I asked why and she said that's the ADA rules and they have to follow them. I was irritated and ready to go home. After paying for the cleaning and going home I realized that they charged me $91 for the *free exam and x-ray, I got taken for a ride. People have to trust their dentist to be honest with them and provide and perform only the services necessary for each patient. I feel taken advantage of and will continue to let everyone know. If you go to Southern Dental be on guard, their main concern is no where near your mouth or the health of it.
