Best Optical IN TExas:
I have been going to Southmore Optical for many many years. They have been in business, and at the same location for almost forty years. They have the best selection, at reasonable prices, and have always gotten my glasses back to me within two hours. This is a family owned and operated business, who really seem to care about their customers. The exam that I have always received there, has not been a five minute in and out experience, They take their time, and answer any questions that you might have. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone who is wanting the best possible care for their eyes. The chain establishments that I used to go to, have store clerks, who are not certified for their line of work. They are not licensed opticians. Southmore Optical, only has licensed / certified opticians to help you. If you look this company up on the BBB, you will find that they have an a+ rating. I don't know what some of these other postings are talking about, because they surely could not be talking about this establishment. It almost sounds to me, like jealous competitors, trying to bad mouth a good company. Take my word for it, give them a try. You will continue, as I have, to go back again and again for your eye care. Good people to deal with!!

Ridiculous And Misleading:
I went with my wife to Southmore to get an eye exam for her contacts. After completing the exam the DR explained he would not write her a prescription for disposable contacts and she would need to have non-disposable because the shape of her eyes. After my wife explained that she had been wearing disposable contacts for 14 years he said well it's something an MD can't do...but an ophthalmologist could be but because he is a MD he would get into trouble.
After telling him myself that he should have been forthright because he knew she wore disposable one (I wanted to say more but didn't) he became angry and literally ripped up the paperwork and told us to leave and never come back and that we owe him nothing.
While I appreciate him not charging us especially if we wouldn't be able to buy disposable ones his behavior was unprofessional and the way in which he talked to my wife was belittling throughout the exam. By the way he said the contacts he would have to order would cost $400 and she would be required to come back 3 more times at an office visit of $75 per visit. So including the first visit the total for a pair of contacts for one year would be $700.
We decided to try Sam's Club and it was just a different world. There was no problems, no schemes, no drama, etc.... If you decide to go here for whatever reason just be careful, be thorough and make sure you will get what you want. They will pitch a sale and if you don't have a strong personality have someone to come with you so that you aren't taken advantage of. However, I would avoid this business and the doctor all together.
