Southwest Mental Health Center is a psychiatric hospital for children and adolescents ranging from 3 to 17 years of age. Founded in 1886 it is one of the oldest not-for-profit organizations in Texas. SMHC serves children from throughout South Texas in need of acute psychiatric care, residential treatment, day treatment and outpatient therapy.
