Description

It's The Jam.

Tips

Jessica Koslow, the talented maven behind Sqirl jam and preserves, crafts the finest jams around. She perfectly captures the beauty of local produce into jams that can be enjoyed year round. Recently, her Virgil Village kitchen has become home to a pop up for G&B coffee. Now you can stop by the shop and enjoy a carefully crafted coffee alongside Koslow's inspired simple dishes ( buttery brioche with Sqirl jam, Kokuho rose rice porridge, malva pudding cake and more!).

Coffee is like a gasoline for people, we need it to run and without it we end up stalled in the middle of our morning commute. Now there’s a new place to get it along an oft-overlooked stretch of Virgil Avenue, where things are percolating thanks to a handful of Intelligentsia alums and jam maven Jessica Koslow of Sqirl. The G&B coffee pop up is offering rotating menu of judiciously chosen drip coffee and espresso along with breakfast and lunch items. We recommend a pour over of Heart’s Esperanza from Guatemala with a slab of thick buttery brioche toast slathered with Sqirl jam.

Editorial Reviews

The creation of jam maker Jessica Koslow, this East Hollywood storefront doubles as a production facility and a cafe offering G&B coffee, breakfast and lunch, with an emphasis on items incorporating her housemade preserves, like brioche toast and porridge topped with “bluebarb” (blueberry and rhubarb) jam. There’s seating both inside the store and outside on a patio.

Excellent spot for a high quality, reasonably priced quick bite in Silver Lake. Order at the counter, then grab a table on the sidewalk or patio. The breakfast toasts are delicious, and the coffee is great. Consider buying one of the house-made jams to bring home, too.

Amazing, interesting coffee paired with great breakfast. The brioche smothered with Sqirl jam is the move. Keep in mind that this place doesn't have to-go cups so you must enjoy everything there.
